La Herradura – a small coastal town located above a bay in Costa Tropical, province Granada.
La herradura is a calm tourist destination and a home for around 4.5 thousand people.
La Herradura is placed in between the sea and mountains, and the old town is placed on the lowest point of the bay. The architecture is rather typical for Andalusian coastal towns.
Although, on the both upper sides of the town you can observe bigger houses and luxury villas with private pools and green gardens.
Surrounded from one side by Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo natural reserve with its beautiful green hills and long beaches. From the other side there is the prestigious Urbanization Punta de la Mona with its marina.
With its good access to the highway, you can arrive to la Herradura within less than 20 minutes drive east from Nerja and 15 minutes drive west from Almuñécar.
What to do in La Herradura?
The west orientation of la Herradura makes it a perfect place to observe picturesque sunsets from the beach and enjoy the long days by the sea.
The clean water in the ara is the best to try scuba diving, snorkeling, paddle surfing and many more water sports.
You can also do the paragliding to observe the bay from above!
Along the beach there are many chiringuitos with variety of fresh sea food and local drinks, and the beach is over 2 kilometres long – to take long strolls on the shore.
If you want to have a little bit more privacy, you can chose one of the beaches in the Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo natural area.
